The Friendliest Country on Earth is a collaborative performance and installation presented at Dunkers Kulturhus in Helsingborg.
The project examines questions of belonging, power, and visibility from the perspective of lived experience as a minority. Within the exhibition space, an installation of used chairs forms a fragmented environment that reflects exclusion and instability. Through performative interaction, the work explores how bodies move within systems shaped by authority and social boundaries.
As part of the project, Areej Almansory presents the film I Do Not Exchange You for Everything in One World (2019), addressing themes of belonging and dual identity. The film reflects on life between Iraq, the country of birth, and Sweden, where the artist has lived for nearly 23 years — and the emotional complexity of navigating multiple cultural identities.
