Paper Missiles consists of a series of photographs and performative actions using fragile paper rockets as a central element. The rockets, folded from paper and marked with the word “war” in different languages, function as everyday objects altered by text and repetition. Their form recalls childhood play, while their content introduces tension and disruption.

The work explores how violence becomes normalized and embedded in daily life, often from an early age. By combining lightweight, temporary materials with charged language, the project examines the contrast between playfulness and threat, intimacy and destruction. The gestures remain restrained, allowing the materials and words to carry meaning without illustration.

Through photography and performance, Paper Missiles reflects the artist’s ongoing interest in using simple objects and reduced visual language to approach complex political and emotional conditions. Memory is treated not as narrative confession, but as something that surfaces through repetition, material choice, and visual economy.
